About The Resistance

The Resistance symbol can be worn or displayed anywhere by anyone.

We are together in this even though we act individually and without a leader.

The purpose of The Resistance is to overcome racism, homophobia, misogyny, religious intolerance, discrimination based on national identity, scapegoating of immigrants, and political and social intimidation.. The purpose of The Resistance is not to advance any political ideology, party, or agenda.

The Resistance has many members. Resistance members may be entirely anonymous. Those who choose to join The Resistance do so because their moral convictions require them to do so and for no other reason. Each member is individually responsible for his or her resistance.

There are no membership requirements beyond the call of conscience. There are no pledges to be made, no oaths to swear, no meetings to attend.

The Resistance has no sponsors, no funders, no managers, no committees. There are no meetings, no list of members, no database of member names.

There is no spokesperson for The Resistance and no one can speak in the name of The Resistance.

The Resistance symbol is a simple white Cross of Lorraine surrounded by a blue circle and red and blue fields. This is the entirety of the symbol. People can add a device to the symbol to call out a particular concern or theme of resistance.

The Resistance logo is available for reproduction directly from the site under a Creative Commons license. You may use it freely whatever you create with it carries the same non-commercial license conditions as the original and cannot be further copyrighted.

The croixlorraine.org website is not permanent. Its only purpose is to make the symbol available to members of The Resistance. When the symbol has been widely distributed, the website will have served it purpose and disappear.

We resist.
